With great pleasure, the Gambia Songhai Initiative (GSI)
announces a fantastic opportunity for young, aspirational farmers and business
owners between the ages of 18 and 35. The next generation of Gambian youth will
be equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge in contemporary farming
methods and agribusiness management through a comprehensive 12-month
residential practical agriculture training program that GSI will begin in
October 2025. This fully financed initiative aims to solve young unemployment
and advance sustainable agricultural development in the nation. It is proudly
supported by the Ministry of young and Sports of the Government of The Gambia.
Young Gambians will get priceless real-world experience in a variety of
agricultural fields, like as crop production, livestock management, sustainable
farming methods, and cutting-edge agricultural technologies, by taking part in
this practical training.
Additionally, the curriculum places a strong emphasis on
entrepreneurship, assisting participants in acquiring the business acumen
required to launch and run prosperous agricultural businesses. After completing
the program, trainees will be able to launch their own agribusiness endeavors
or develop successful professions in agriculture thanks to mentorship, resource
access, and exposure to real-world farming situations.
Applications for this transformative program are now being
accepted, and those who are interested are urged to apply as soon as possible
to guarantee their spot. The Gambia Songhai Initiative extends an invitation to
