The Organisation of Southern Cooperation (OSC) is pleased to announce the 2nd annual OSC-GCUB Scholarship, which once again provides up to 400 postgraduate scholarship benefits to students from eligible OSC Member and Founding States. This initiative, developed in collaboration with the International Cooperation Group of Brazilian Universities (GCUB), aligns with the OSC’s commitment to promoting international academic mobility and South-South cooperation as a means to break down barriers, build bridges between different cultures and communities through education, and give individuals the tools to become agents of change.
Overview of The International Cooperation Group of Brazilian Universities (GCUB)
The International Cooperation Group of Brazilian Universities – GCUB is delighted to announce the Call for Applications for the Fourth Edition of the GCUB International Mobility Program – GCUB-Mob.
The GCUB International Mobility Program – GCUB-Mob is promoted by GCUB with the support of the Guimarães Rosa Institute of the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs – IGR-MRE, the Organization for South Cooperation – OSC, the Organization of American States – OAS, the National Council of State Research Funding Agencies – CONFAP, the Union of Universities of Latin America and the Caribbean – UDUALC, and the Central American Higher University Council – CSUCA; and in partnership with the National Commission of UNESCO for Brazil and the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie – AUF.
The objective of the Program is to contribute to the development of high-achieving students from all five continents, as well as to promote university internationalisation and strengthen international cooperation between Brazilian universities and counterpart institutions in other countries.
In this edition, more than 880 Master’s and Doctoral scholarships will be offered by 60 Brazilian universities that are members of GCUB. The academic programs are scheduled to begin in 2026.
Interested applicants may submit their applications starting June 5, 2025. Applications will close at 11:59 p.m. (BRT) on July 13, 2025.

Application Requirements
- Applications must be submitted exclusively through the Online Application Form.
- The candidate must upload in the Online Application Form the following documents, in PDF format:
- Copy of identification document (citizenship document, passport or national identification document). Curriculum Vitae (there is no need to include proof of courses or experience at the time of application. However, such documents may be requested, at any moment, by GCUB or by the host HEI).
- Undergraduate diploma (licensure or university bachelor´s degree) or a certificate of completion or a declaration from the university that certifies the completion of studies carried out.
For Doctorate’s candidates: In addition to the documents required in items (a), (b), and (c), Master’s diploma or certificate of completion, if required by the chosen Doctoral program.
For each of the programs of study options chosen, the candidate must submit two essays. -
Specifications of the Essay: font Times New Roman, size 12; line spacing of 1.5 cm and margins (top, bottom, right and left) of 2.5 cm.
Essays contents
Essay 1: Academic expectations and interests; professional expectations and perspectives for returning to the country of origin (maximum 1,000 words).
Essay 2: Research proposal containing a maximum of 4,000 words, covering the following topics: Central theme and research problem.
- Delimitation and justification.
- Objectives.
- Literature review.
- Methodological process.
- Timeline.
- Bibliographical references.
